I've been pinned!! To some people, that could sound deathly - but to bloggers, DIYers and creative social networking enthusiast, it's a delight to behold. Although I had stumbled upon the site earlier this year, I've been avoiding joining it for two reasons: I already belong to about a dozen other sites and it's challenging to keep up with all of them. I do also already have a system for saving inspiration images that I am familiar with and it's easy for me to do - so what is the draw to this site? I don't know yet, but I'd have to say it's probably the "share" factor and it's easier to see what's on a board vs. what is tucked into a folder?? What do you think?

I just joined Pinterest. Do you have any advice or tips? What do you think of Pinterest? Do you pin? How often are you pinning? How long did it take to start pinning and get your boards organized? How often do you use it? What's to become of all your saved folders you've already acquired?

Well, I'm off to go explore the site some more, start following pinners, hopefully do a little pinning today and probably watch the video tutorial. Wish me luck! And to those of you who have pinned me - a HUGE THANK YOU!

Thanks in advance for your tips & advice on Pinning.
And thanks for stopping by!
Love love love pinterest. i use it to house my "ideas" and I find it so much better than my previous file system, because as you said it's all on one board and visible.. You can create folders on the fly, as you are pinning. Right now I have holidays and house stuff by room and then tables.. so much fun. Welcome to the pinning crowd.
ReplyDeleteLove love pinterest, but it is addictive. Like the bowl of chips, I will just pin one more pin. Oh my don't do it before going to be,or you will never get to bed. Thanks for following my pin boards, I was honored to see your name, Kathysue
ReplyDeleteLove pinterest. Like everyone else I keep track of ideas for my home. I also use it instead of bookmarks, as a visual person I find it easier to find what I am looking for when there are pictures instead of words. I also use it for keeping track of collections, for instance I am addicted to sewing books and I can lose track of what I have. I have a board for my sewing books so I can check if I have it before I buy (with my smartphone). You can also use it for keeping track of gift ideas. I am sure I will find more and more uses for it. Love it.
ReplyDeleteLooks great, congrats!
ReplyDeleteI am loving Pinterest! I just pin a picture if I come across it and like it. I create the category or add it to an existing category as I pin it. Every once in a while I actually go to pinterest and browse, but I use it more as an inspiration file for me of things I come across! Happy pinning!
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying Pinterest because no there is a link to the picture of the article or thing that I want to remember. I think that is the best part. Before I had a folder on my desktop for ideas but I could only save the picture. I would forget where I saw it so if there were details or tutorials I couldn't go back and find them . . . forgetful brain or information overload, call it what you like. I pinned you because I like learning about design so thank you for sharing with us all.
ReplyDeletePinterest is fabulous! I've been using it for awhile but really got into it after I got a virus on my computer from an image I pulled from google images. Pinterest is easy to use and there are so many wonderful images ready to be pinned. Your images are now part of my boards.
ReplyDeletep.s. I try to limit myself to one hour pinning sessions, but you know how that goes!
I just started not too long ago and thought it was pretty useful mostly because you can keep track of all the image sources (not so easy to do locally on your computer) BUT the bigger bonus, its actually a great marketing tool! I started seeing some of my art prints being pinned by others which draws traffic to my own site, great bonus! Now I pin my own artwork to help get it out there :)
