DWELL WITH DIGNITY: THRIFT STUDIO EVENT 2014

It's that time of year again, where it soon will be time for the Dwell with Dignity Spring pop-up Thrift Studio! Open to the public for a 30 day period in the Dallas Design District, the Thrift Studio is a bi-annual pop-up shop created to provide fundraising for Dwell with Dignity through the selling of their warehouse of overstocked donated, gently used and high end designer furniture, housewares, and accessories. This is not only a great way to shop for unique finds for your own home or small budget projects, but it's also a great means of being a part of and helping an excellent organization, Dwell with Dignity. Although the word 'thrift' is used, it is only as a means of describing the savings - because the creatively styled vignettes designed by a fabulous cast of designers and showroom stylist will blow you away...

 Aren't these vignettes phenomenal?

The Thrift Studio styled vignettes are able to be created thanks to donations by local Dallas designers, showrooms, and volunteers. If you are in the Dallas area and you would like to volunteer to help set or volunteer time during the pop-up shop hours of operation, please visit the Dwell with Dignity site at: dwellwithdignity.org/volunteer. Along with designer donations, DwD also takes certain gently used donations from homeowners. You can see the list of what can be donated at: What We Take. Additional sponsors also help drive the fundraising ability of the Thrift Studio - Here are just a few of the Dwell with Dignity sponsors...

A new addition to the Thrift Studio concept launched last Fall and is continuing for Spring called Thrift Studio – Art Studio. A donation of an original piece of art will enable DWD to increase their fund raising ability to reach their mission, and for artists who donate, it will enable you to expose your work to the Dallas designers and tastemakers. All entries must be received by Friday, March 21 to be eligible for designer vignette consideration. For additional information and inquiries, please visit Art Auction – Thrift Studio.

Although I've written about Dwell with Dignity before (here, here, here, and here) below is an excellent short video to watch to learn about how Dwell is inspiring lives with design, one household at a time, as described by its Founder | President Lisa Robison and Vice president | Director Kim Turner...

I hope if you're in the Dallas area, you'll be able to attend this Spring's Thrift Studio event - or even better - volunteer your time to help! Remember: Tickets now on sale at thriftstudio.com.
