To change the look, I can just remove the black vases and add in simple glass hurricanes. Set it all on a graphic base of B&W patterned table linens. If you can't find the right patterned napkin, try using Fabric Quarters, easily found at JoAnn's and usually on sale for a fraction of big-box store cloth napkins...
HomeGoods does have a great selection of table linens, which is where I picked up these graphic B&W mats...
Mixing old & New: Crackled Eggs + Mats - New from HomeGoods, paired with thrift finds such a collected brass candlesticks and white dishes...
Just as I do when styling a home, I layered black & white graphic textile patterns such as the fret boarder mats from HomeGoods over the HomeGoods B&W runner. Since I only had a 4 pack of paisley napkins (also from HomeGoods) I layered in the fabric quarters I picked up at JoAnns...
Thrifted bags of multi-colored Easter eggs I hot glued to an also thrifted raffia wreath and spray painted gold with splatters of chocolate made for a thrifty-chic wreath.
To personalize the
place settings, add a simple monogram to a gold painted egg by using scrapbook
rub-on letters (I actually added later). The birds nests I had gotten had HomeGoods a few years back - but they came with blue Robin's eggs. Removing the blue eggs and replacing with gold was a nice way to repupose and reuse something I already had...
From Our Easter Home 2011
A table runner used to band my drop-cloth slip covered bench.
I relocated the runner from the table to the bench to give it a dash of shimmer and
balance the shine in the space. I picked up the table runner after Christmas on clearance at West Elm for only $6.
My framed fabric wall art created a simple grid focal point on the freshly painted SW Lime Ricky wall. Live ferns from Lowes help echo Spring freshness! Smaller brass candlesticks I've also collected while thrifting, are given a larger scale by 'nesting' inside taller glass cylinders...
Tablescape layers - Fun & EZ to do with HomeGoods!
These birds nest (from HomeGoods) gave an organic tough to each placesetting, for an otherwise very graphic tablescape. Although the nests were from HG, the larger gold eggs were from thrift that I painted gold, and later mongrammed.
The flatware was a great find in a clearance at HomeGoods (only $25 for a Lenox set of 8 placesetting, including serving pieces!!) and worked great with my collected white dinnerware I've gathered thrifting - Again, just like with home styling, I love merging new and old to personalize a space, or as here, a tablescape.

Just beautiful! Wondering where the table and buffet came from?
ReplyDeleteThank you! The dining table was a house warming / wedding gift from my mom to us (JCP) and the mid century buffet was a thrift score I refinished. back in Miami.
