SEDONA IN SEPTEMBER: CHAPEL of the HOLY CROSS

One of the things I love so much about Social Media is the feedback and input you can get from people. When I had mentioned we were heading to Sedona, people chimed in with sites to see, tours to take, and restaurants + shops to check out. One of the sites to see was mentioned by Leslie Carothers. She had said she was only in Sedona once, but when she was there, she had visited a Frank Lloyd church. Loving Wright the way I do, this became a must see, and we did soon after our arrival to Sedona. The afternoon lighting was amazing to experience this amazing structure and surroundings in...

This structure was inspired by the architect's trip to New York City in the 1930's. He had seen the Empire State Building and visited St. Patrick's Cathedral on his trip.  When he returned, he wanted to build a skyscraper to marry the two structures together here in Sedona. He teamed up with Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright, and built this structure in the 1950's.

LOVE the doors...

  2. I was here - I think in 2007 - and it was an amazing trip. It's hard to put Sedona in words other than it 's a must see.
