Notable Nudes at the 2012 Golden Globes

One of my favorite things to do this time of year is watch all the fabulous fashions - some hits and some misses - on all the red carpet awards shows. You can keep the speeches, but it's usually an enjoyable event to watch unfold. It's also funny to listen to the critics after the show rip apart some of these stars, especially when some of them aren't quite the ones to judge. I was surprised by Kelly Osbourne's grey hair last night. I don't think Joan will let her live that down. Besides the blunders, last nights Golden Globes details didn't disappoint, with notable nudes being the dominate color on the red carpet. From pale shades of champagne to blush, to flesh - the nudes were the show stopper. And on the other end of the color spectrum, cool jewel tones in sultry sapphire to emerging emerald were the other gems noted on the red carpet...

BY FAR... this years Golden Globes Best Dressed:
Kate Beckinsale in a Roberto Cavalli strapless pale blush chiffon & lace gown

A close second could be Angelina Jolie looking so statuesque, and oozing old Hollywood glam wearing Atelier Versace...

Some other notable nudes...

Another pale shade making a presence on the red carpet:
pale platinum's and lavenders...

Jessica Alba looked A-MAZING in Gucci...

The dress is gorgeous, as well as Nicole's body for it, but IMO: her hair needed a little more body, or a sophisticated ponytail like Nicole Richie did...

But without a doubt, the notable nude that failed:

Someone commented it looked like she borrowed an old Loretta Lynn gown...
and that it did.

But back to those cool jewel tones...
Navy and sapphire replaced black as the classic...
Va-Va-Voom
Sultry Sophia sparkles in this gem!

But blue was not without its blunders too...

Save the tie-dyed looks for the boardwalk and the beach please...
And I know when we're young, we want to look old, but platinum hair and puffy sleeves?? please....

From home interior details to the red carpet...
Emerald seems to be emerging as a flattering color and one to watch...

Boardwalk Empire's Kelly MacDonald sparkled in a green and purple
sequin Lorena Sarbu gown.

Evan Rachel Wood - stunning details of sequins & feathers in green...

Another shade of green was a shocking shot of neon on Zooey in Prada...

I love Madonna - but not this dress: a dark green embroidered gown by Reem Acra

Basic black was also a classic spotted on the red carpet, and worn so well by Debra Messing and Julianne Moore...

Another spectator classic in black were Kate Winslet and Claire Danes...
These two above were my personal fave looks for the evening...

By far - two of the two-toned fails of the night...
Too daytime and frumpy looks- not enough glam for the cam...

It must be a Latina thing -another Va-Va-Voom lady in Noir -
Sultry Salma...

Lovely - but Michelle came across as trying too hard...

I usually don't like seeing RED on the RED carpet, but Reese looked ravishing... and LOVED the intricate cut-out detail work of Dianna Agron in a Giles dress...

Definitely detailed... but without the bling - a nice change.

The men didn't disappoint either giving all us ladies some sweet eye candy to drool over...

Kills me...

Love the scruff... but also like Leonardo's clean look...

Wink wink :)
What did you think? What were some of your faves or surprises?

Sorry for the lack of posting the past few days.
Trying to get some things lined up from projects to researching my car trade because my lease is up... When the heck did average car prices jump to the price of a once-upon-a-time Mercedes price??? Geesh! And some sales people need to become a tad bit more sensitive to the world, economy and people around them. If we say "it's out of our budget" - don't insult people by saying, "Why can't you budget xxx dollars?" The nerve! I wanted to SLAP him - and I know Jeff's adrenaline was racing too... Anyhoo...

Thanks for stopping by!
