JUNIOR LEAGUE of GREENSBORO SPRING DESIGN SHOWHOUSE TOUR

Earlier in April, here in North Carolina, we were experiencing perfect spring days - a fantastic time to tour the 1940s historic Greensboro home turned Junior League of Greensboro designer showhouse! If you ever have the chance to go and explore a showhouse near you, make like Nike and just do it!! You’ll walk away with so many inspiring ideas from refreshing color combinations and bookshelf styling to a renewed perspective on space use and even wallcovering application – which was all so well presented by designers at this most recent design showhouse, here in The Triad.

The Junior League of Greensboro hosted its fourth Designer Showhouse within the prestigious and historic Irving Park neighborhood. The home, a two-story brick veneer residence, with approximately 2,552 square feet of space became a canvas for local interior designers – from Charlotte and Burlington, to High Point and Greensboro – to mindfully recreated a new, modern traditional home.

Here are my 8 faves of the 16 spaces in the design showhouse, that happily caught my attention and may inspire for you too!

My first remarkable room share of my favorite spaces from the designer showhouse is this impressively balanced, calm & bold new traditional style living room, created by the team of Allen + James Home of High Point -- The room's four walls are coated in Sherwin-Williams Faint Coral.... but it's the fifth wall, covered in Kravet wallcovering that WILL make you faint!!!

Absolutely gorgeous details, right down to what every room needs: something black, here found in the simplicity & function of a black wooden accent chair 🖤 Just LOVE this space!!

The next remarkable room, who also treated the "fifth wall" - aka the ceiling, with a subtle patterned wall covering is a re-interpretation of the classic breakfast nook into a marvelous morning lounge...

A marvelous morning lounge, aka a re-imagined breakfast-nook, designed by the talented Cheryl Luckett of Dwell by Cheryl, located in Charlotte, NC. The space features a cozy & colorful layered vibe, inspired by the quaint bistros of Paris. The space featured some products from Cheryl’s own line with Wildwood Home, along with an upcoming fabric line, applied to the banquette & chairs.

Absolutely LOVED the space planning & pattern play!

Sure to WOW guests, a powder room is an excellent space to have some fun on the walls – and in this jewel box, Beth Sink of Claude & Coy Interiors was mindful of balancing feminine accents with a masculine backdrop of a hand-painted wall-covering from Kravet called Morning Gallop.

Locally sourced art & curated layers welcome & cocoon you upstairs in guest room one created by Nicole Culler for Nicole Culler Interiors in High Point – The updated traditional style works seamlessly with the aesthetics of this 1940’s era home.

Marie Cloud of Indigo Pruitt Design Studio created a "wanderlust hallway" that isn't just a passageway but a curated experience which evokes the urge to break free from everyday life and experience something new and unknown - Maybe a good book in the once hall closet transformed into a cozy nook...

This amazing office space, created by the team of Vivid Interiors, infuses sophistication with a masculine, warm and modern traditional feel. Vivid’s goal was to design a space that is calm and inviting for taking care of business, but also cozy enough for lounging with a cocktail after the workday is done – the added benefit of working from home!

Once again, that feeling of coziness comes from the attention to detail given to the ceiling with a wall covering treatment, vs a vast, blank, white void in this moodier space...

Curated with pieces collected from Schwung Home, Ashley Ross of Muse Noir Interiors created a sensational sunroom, infusing her contemporary global design aesthetic for the showhouse, with a light, airy, uniquely layered neutral style...

Coming or going, a bold York Wallcovering greets visitors as the heron pattern surrounds them in the stairway of this historic home's foyer, created by Kindered Interior Studio for the Junior League of Greensboro. The herons in flight was a nod to the homeowners love of the coast, paired with an updated application of wainscotting, creating a welcoming, modern-traditional foyer.

!!! SO MUCH INSPIRATION TO TAKE IN !!!

There were several details in many of the spaces designers created for this Irving Park historic home selected as this showhouse - I really wish the showhouse would have been open for a longer period of time so more people could experience and enjoy!!

You can see the inspiration behind ALL of the designs, along with some before images too by visiting: Aspire Design & Home
