ART OF CHAIRS EXHIBIT AT CANDO ARTS CO-OP

Ironically last week when I decided to update Photos for Friday to Chair Fetish Friday, I found a feature in Sunday's paper called Art Of Chair on exhibit in South Beach. Jeff and I went to see the exhibit yesterday, and we also got to meet one of the resident artists - Alissa Christine. Alissa is a very talented photographer, who is so inspired by Miami, she has initiated a project she is developing into a book - both called "i love miami 365".

We toured the 5,000 sq. ft. space, and saw not only the ten featured recycled chairs converted into art, but art from the other residents (sculptors, painters, mixed-media and photographers) who share as curator for this gallery like Janet M. Mueller, Paula Turk, Shari McWilliams, Deborah Weed and Sid Daniels...

Some other pieces captured in
this resident gallery feature:

sculpture

photo collage

paintings

mixed media of recycled product

And although this wasn't one of the chairs featured,
it was inside one of the studios,
and I was really drawn to its
style, lines and aged look...

If you are in Miami Beach,
stop by CANDO to check out
this unique local resident artists gallery...

A LOOK INSIDE AN ARTIST STUDIO

Have you ever wondered what it looked like inside of an artist studio? Is it a mess? Is paint all over? Do they showcase their work there too? Fortunately, we have a place to go and take a peak inside these studios... Some, yes are a mess, with paint splattered floors and mixed media clutter. But others are a delightful display of the talents within... This week's Photos For Friday takes you inside the Art Center of South Florida located in Miami Beach...

Is it what you thought it would be?
Or is this...

Hope you don't make this much of a mess
while dying your Easter eggs!!

Have an EGG-TRA SPECIAL weekend!!
