SOUTH FLORIDA - BEDROOM RENOVATION
STYLED TO SELL - SOUTH FLORIDA HOME STAGING
Even in a struggling market (2011) -- Five offers in three days of listing / showing proves that a staged home need not be sparse, but 'fit' the lifestyle of the area you are selling your house in - What client lifestyle will be viewing? Cater to that lifestyle for visual impact.
A renovation differs from a remodel: A remodel is more architecturally involved, while a renovation is more cosmetic: updating ceiling fixtures, wall color choice, floor covering replaced, adding crown molding, and customizing window treatments, along with sourcing updated furniture, refinishing found furniture, and styling the space to suit the clients lifestyle, likes and needs.

In December 2010, the
Producer for ColorSplash discovered me through Facebook. I was honored
to be called for an interview, and obtained the opportunity to work
with David Bromstad + his team in Miami as a Design Assistant on HGTV's
Colorsplash. While on the team, I got
to work with the movers and shakers - the people who make things
happen for the show - from Juan Rozas and Brideget Haxho the talented
painters, to Stuart Hinde the skillful carpenter, to the magic making
camera crew, and the delightful co-host designers - Gina Carballo and
Patricia Laurel! We collaborated on-site as well as at the studio. Here
are some pics from what we did together and my part to help the team...
On Site - Working on the Sherwin William 1 Hour Colorsplash Special
My Design Assistant projects I contributed to the show:
1. Make flower arrangements for a makeover.
2. Prime & paint accessories for another makeover.
3. Help paint 5 spaces in
an historic house for an upcoming HGTV Special as well as visit the
home prior to the makeover to measure all means of egress (to verify
furniture would fit).
4. Source & deliver fabric for custom draperies.
5. Steam draperies (and get lots of hugs from David!!)
6. Help keep items organized at a makeover & at the studio.
7. Source & deliver fabric for re-upholstery.
8. Source new places to shop and film at in South Florida, NJ, and NYC
as well as create a detailed directory with photos, business cards, & catalogs
9. Source printed fabrics to match existing for re-upholstery.
