FIVE NEW FAVES

It looks like HGTV has been listening to its viewers, and has created some new shows this year to love. Although we're drawn the designer programs (like lovin' Candice Olson, David Bromstad, and Dear Genevive) some of the newer shows are more competitive like Battle On The Block. Here's a list of my new Five Faves - along with some HGTV 'firsts'...

new looks in your OWN closet,
adding some new key pieces,
and designing a closet redesign!

Very informative outdoor design program,
hosted by clean line designer Kelly Deck

Competitive home improvement,
hosted by the kind designer, Genevive Gorder

LOVE!! LOVE!! LOVE!! Because I LOVE New York!
Catch a rare glimpse into a world where a solid reputation
at the top of the real estate food chain
involves swimming with the sharks

ALL TIME NEW FAVE!!

Along with these 5 shows, are a block of 'firsts'

following a set of first-time buyers and their realtor
along the stress-filled, yet exciting, search for the perfect home.

Think buying your first place is tough? Try selling it!
MFS has even more drama and, most important,
more valuable takeaways to help viewers
make top dollar on their own sale.
Great information to try to help turn the market around

giving viewers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to
get off the couch and dive into the world of
home makeovers as rookie designers, hosted by
David Bromstad, Lisa LaPorta and Vern Yip

What are some of your new faves on HGTV?

  1. Oh, thanks for posting this..........I have not had HGTV on much because it seems Holmes on Homes is always on and I just can't get into it. Will have to check some out.......sounds like First Time Design will be good as I like all 3 hosts.

  2. I like all your faves, especially the design aspects...
though I *dislike* the 'outdoor room' concept = pretty much NO PLANTS, or maybe one or 2 very boring ones, repeated. (Also, in the long run that kind of 'monoculture' will only attract pest and disease problems) that is promoted on Take it Outside.

  3. Jill - HH is informative, but no, it's not decor minded. Funny, I feel like every time I was turning on HGTV, I was seeing HOUSE HUNTERS, which THAT I am sick to death of watching!

    M. Gardner - I guess because Kelly Deck is an interior designer, she's not as focused on gardening, (like Susie Quervo?) I enjoy her calm deminer... and after seeing her gallery on her site, REALLY love her interior design style... =)

    Thanks for stopping by FP!!

  4. I have to admit I haven't watched much HGTV lately because every time I turned it on it seemed like it was another house seller show and I got really tired of those. This looks like some new good ones to check out. Thanks for the info.
