A Meet Up and What's New

There is something about the end of a year that causes one to reflect on their life before entering the new one. From last years birthday to my birthday this past Monday, a lot has happened which at times felt like it was happening in slow motion. From a beach walk in Ft. Lauderdale last summer to a NYC trip for September 11th, and then coming back home to sell, pack and move to Arizona - that part happened quickly. And at that time,  I was starting to pick up some momentum with clients - a bedroom reno, a closet make over, a living room update, personal shopping, a Miami Lakes home consultation and a Miami office consultation. I even had great thrifting areas, artful events, and fun makeovers I teamed up with my friend Jose to do. Now flash forward a year later, and I'm rebuilding not only my rep in a new area, but learning my way around a new place, making a new home for the hubs, Sephora and I, plus trying to meet new people in the process.

Have a Chanel birthday cupcake to celebrate!

Today, I'm excited to be heading out up to Scottsdale to meet two new people: Sarah Bradburn - a Phoenix interior designer, vintage shopper and blogger along with Lisa Lopez Gylling (aka the Goodwill Gal - blogger for Goodwill of AZ). I'm looking forward to meeting up with these two lovely ladies I met through Tweeting and Facebook. Another I met back in the Spring has since moved to Seattle, but we're still keeping in touch, and I'll be contributing posts to her new site - Kitchen Living With Coryanne. Other happenings occurring through social media since I've been in AZ have been an invite to be on Sonoran Living (a local morning show) - but we were in San Diego during the time they wanted to tape, meeting up with a producer here in our house for a new show called The ReStylers (I met her also through Facebook) and meeting up this month with the owner of a shop I profiled here on the blog (in Mesa called FOUND) to be a part of the launch of a new site this Fall. I've also been contacted by two major online retailers to pin for them and I'll be collaborating with another site as a guest blogger (with olioboards) coming up this October. This is the part that has been slow going, but maybe now is starting to pick up some momentum.

Coming up on the blog, I'll be sharing some of my latest thrift finds, my summer update here in our rental, along with pics from our adventure / meet-up today and a visit to Taliesin West - a structure designed by my fave architect: Frank Lloyd Wright.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I can so relate to you. I started a business in South Florida 8 yrs. ago and suddenly had to move and rebuild. I'm so glad things are taking off for you. That's a great sign that you are in the right place.

My business was going so well in SO. FL. I always wonder where I would be (professionally) if we would have stayed.

Wish you the best girl. -Irma
